I know in my reading of the documentation that there was something that laid out the foundation for determining how often you should take backups of your logs (liner logging), but I can't find it.
Can someone point me in the right direction? |

Only the logs? You're not concerned with backing up anything else? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Bruce - he's following up with another in his long series of questions about using a backup qmgr.
So,yes, he's only interested in how often to run rcdmqimg and make copies of the linear logs, so that he can retain them for replay in case of disaster. |

I'm not sure I'm following you, doesn't backing up the logs and replying them on a backup qmgr keep a legitimate backup? |

By 'legitimate' do you mean 'current'? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

By 'legitimate' do you mean 'current'? |
That would entirely depend on his meaningful definition of 'current'. |

And would entirely depend on the meaningful definition of legitimate.
Since the OP asked 'how often', I inferred 'timely' . _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
