We recently upgraded to SAG (SWIFT Alliance gateway) 7.0 on W2K8 R2 from SAG 6.0 on W2K3

The MQ Server has not changed but the connections keep growing up every day and eventually hit the limit causing issues. The firewall and SAG server itself show only few connection that are active. The SAG server is not actively communicating to MQ Server. But when it does, previous connection is gone and it opens new one. That previous connection remains open on MQ server side.

Looks like may be your firewall is cutting idle connections...
Would it help to reduce the TCP/IP time-out?
