hello, i am running windows7 desktop and trying to upgrade to the 64-bit version of wmb 7.0.0.1 but the mqsilaunchpad installer complains that cannot find \run.inf. the mqsilaunchpad installer worked for 32-bit version when i installed broker months ago.
both installs (32-bit and 64) are unzipped on a network drive in separate folders (both have disk1, disk2, disk3, messagebroker_runtime1, and messagebroker_runtime2 subfolders) and not using CD installer. has anyone else encountered this problem? |

Are you sure you have the right access/security settings on the files on the share?
Windows 7 is totally borked (IMHO) when it comes to deciding what it will run and what is won't.
I could rant on for pages about why I think that but as it is Good Friday, I'll spare the readers that _________________ WMQ User since 1999

@sunny_30
thx for your recommendation. it worked and am able to get beyond win7 security problems via mqsilaunchpad.
however... once beyond that, i have problem updating wmb toolkit to latest 7.x fixpack. install manager is returning error "failed to load bundle com.ibm.wmb.tools.prereq.check". for the record, the installation mgr is configured to use http proxy but i don't think that is my problem. any thoughts? |

You cannot incrementally patch. You have to patch to latest full version, then incrementally patch the ifix version. For example if you have 7.0.0.2 installed, you must patch 7.0.0.0 to 7.0.0.3 then apply the 7.0.0.3 ifix2. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

Which executable to you mean? The launchpad is already manifested to be "run as administrator"?
