MQ (MQ 5.3, AIX 5.2) became unresponsive and unrecoverable after reaching 2gb file limit, and I made the mistake of archiving the q file before deleting and rebuilding it. Of course I would have had better luck recovering the messages if I had archived the logs. Now I have a 2GB q file and no log files and need to recover data.. is this possible? I am about to try rebuilding on temp QM on MQ v7... it aint gonna work out of the box. Anyone have any advice before I get carried away?

Set up your file system so that you can go over 2GB, recreate the qmgr and take a cold backup. Now restore the q file, start the qmgr and see if you can access the messages on it... Mind you not a recommended method...
