While my operation involves the broker, I believe this is primarily a WMQ issue
I am using RHEL 6.2, WMQ 7.0.1 and WMB 7.0.0,1
I could not deploy to a boker execution group, and after seeing that there were no messages in SYSTEM.BROKER.*, and no apparent issues, I gave up and created a new qmgr (to use with a new broker)
But I got an error when creating the new qmgr:
Code: |
-bash-4.1$ crtmqm WQM2
WebSphere MQ queue manager created.
Directory '/var/mqm/qmgrs/WQM2' created.
Creating or replacing default objects for WQM2.
AMQ6110: An internal WebSphere MQ error has occurred. |
I looked up the error and found the following:
Code: |
AMQ5008: An essential WebSphere MQ process 5862 (zllPUBSUB) cannot be found and
is assumed to be terminated.
EXPLANATION:
1) A user has inadvertently terminated the process. 2) The system is low on
resources. Some operating systems terminate processes to free resources. If
your system is low on resources, it is possible it has terminated the process
so that a new process can be created.
ACTION:
WebSphere MQ will stop all MQ processes. Inform your systems administrator.
When the problem is rectified WebSphere MQ can be restarted. |
So I looked at the resources available
Code: |
-bash-4.1$ free -m
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 96722 7552 89170 0 134 3392
-/+ buffers/cache: 4026 92696

-bash-4.1$
-bash-4.1$ df

I seem to have plenty of disk and memory.
What could be causing this problem ? |

Someone / something trashing that process? Presumably you've checked to see if it's really gone & not just hanging?
Have you tried manually restarting the process? Does it start or fail immediately i.e. was there a transient problem or an ongoing environmental issue? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Have you verified the setting of the kernel parameters that need to change for MQ to work right? Did you reboot since changing them? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
