Does the MQ Client follow the same support structure as the server? i.e, has the 5.3 client been EOL since Sept 2007 like the server? and will the 6 client be EOL in Sept?
Just trying to grasp what this actually means in relation to a 5.3 and 6 client:
A V7.0 queue manager can interact with all clients, non-version 7.0, as well as version 7.0.
Interact, Yes - Support, No?

It depends on what you mean.
There have been no code changes to the v5.3 product line, regardless of which components you are talking about, since v5.3 went EOL.
You absolutely should be using a supported version of the client.
Except that the version that is used to determine whether a configuration is supported or not is the version of the server, not the version of the client.
But you still shouldn't be using v5.3. or v6.0 for anything. |
