All,
I need to move my configuration manager from its current workstation to our new server. The brokers run on Unix.
Question:
1. Once WMQI has been installed on the new server, how can I load the old configuration manager data on the new server?
Will exporting the Control Center workspace do the trick? or
Do I have to copy the UDB tables to the new server? or
Should I import all of the messages sets and messages flows in to the new server, create the Toplogoy view, delete and create the brokers again?
Thanks,
Lisa

While I have not actually have done this, I would think that it would be possible to move the configuration manger to a new server byt backing up the ConfigMgr's DB and the MsgRepository's DB and restoring them on the new server. Then when you create the new configuration manager, you can use the restored DBs to maintain all the shared data. As for the control center, it would seem that you could simply carry over the XML file for the CC to the new server. But it might be a good idea to export a copy of the CC in case the carried over XML file does not work.
Again, I have not had to do this, but it would seem possible this way. |
