Search backwards from the end of the csd log searching for *** and what does it show

(Or if you want to be more precise, search from the top of *this* install attempts log forward for *** and look at each hit - The logs concatenate so you need to find the beginning of the last attempt - I think there's a '=====' type divider if it helps, or just browse for a gap in the timestamps)

This looks like timestamp problem. The MQ installer resolves all timestamps back to GMT. Check that your system clock is correct wrt to the timezone. There was an APAR IC76117 for 7.0.1.4 which had issues with machines on which daylight savings time was enabled but not active i.e. it was winter time.

If you can't find anything wrong just try disabling the check, this worked for me on 7.0.1.5 and 7.0.1.6.

Like this:-

WebSphereMQMDV7.0.1.6EnUs.exe -a MQPNOCHECKVER=1

The message reported is extremely common, its the end of the log saying there's been a problem inside the log. There is no evidence of it being related to any specific problem (hence my instructions on what needs doing to identify the higher up stuff). The gap in the timestamps is because there was a dialog on the screen and it was waiting on user input
