I'm trying to import some message sets but the import utility seems to hang. Any suggestions on where I should start looking for clues as to what's happening?
I'm running on Win2k, WMQI 2.1 5724-D07, MQ 5.2.1 |

are those messages sets really big? because you can be getting an error inserting in the database. Check DB logs. _________________ Lillo

Thanks for the replies.
I'm not getting any messages on issuing the mqsiimpempmsgset command.
In db2diag.log I see the following message
2003-04-30-12.51.42.703001 Instance:DB2 Node:000
PID:1416(db2syscs.exe) TID:3180 Appid:*LOCAL.DB2.030430113405
data_management sqldEscalateLocks Probe:2 Database:DO2MRDB
-- Lock Count, Target : 773, 628
-- Table (ID) Name : (2;16) COMMERCE.TYPE_MEMBER
-- Locks, Request Type : 432, X
-- Result (0 = success): 0
Does that suggest anything?
BTW - I know very little about DB2 |

I now realise that the log details I posted previously were not errors. Since then I have turned on DB2 trace and ran the import . This time the import completed - it took just over 80 minutes to import one message set though. Does this sound right? The PC I'm running on has a 2GHz P4 processor and 1 GB memory. |

I have had the same problem and don't know what caused it. 80 minutes seems kind of long to me!!! How big is your messageset? We have one that is about 12 meg and sometimes it gets hung. At other times it goes in a minute or less. We haven't been able to determine why it hangs and when we try it later it always works.

My message sets are not too large - 2.5 - 3 meg. It's just on server that has this problem. On other servers (of similar spec) the same imports take less than a minute. |
