Hi, I'm a newbie when it comes to the client end of MQ. We normally hook up server to server connections. I have a need to create a program that will utilize the client side to connect to a queue manager. Have skimmed multiple articles from IBM and appear to be stuck. I keep getting the following error:
2/6/2012 11:11:55 - Process(756.1) User(mmacaski) Program(_test.vshost.exe)
AMQ9547: Type of remote channel not suitable for action requested.

EXPLANATION:
The operation requested cannot be performed because channel 'CLIENT.CONNECTION'
on the remote machine is not of a suitable type. For example, if the local
channel is defined as a sender the remote machine must define its channel as
either a receiver or requester.
ACTION:
Check that the channel name is specified correctly. If it is, check that the
remote channel has been defined correctly.

From reading other posts it appears the issue may be that I need to configure my client? I can't seem to find documentation that is of any help to accomplish this.

I'm just trying to run the sample program from the IBM guide (pg 13). csqzav07.pdf

Any help would be appreciated.

It's possible (I can't see your screen) that you're defining a channel of type CLNTCONN thinking that is what a client connection connects to; have you defined a channel of type SVRCONN?

Thanks exerk! I thought it must be something that I had to setup on the client end, lol. Created a server-connection channel on the MQ server and the program connected.

Cheers,
