1)How do i determine how many instances of execution server i need .
2) How do i exactly determine how many do i need for hot pooling .
3)If so what is side effect if i have unnecessary extra instances
4) By having extra instance even though load is balanced any side effects
Can u please guide
following is my set ups . so please guide me to find how many execution server instances i need .currently we have
No of processes : 8000 process instances per day.
NO OF CHECKOUTS: 20000 / DAY
Workflow version is 3.3.0
The hardware configuration of the system where the mq workflow
server is running is as follows :
AIX / RS 6000
Mode:pSeries p680-S85 L2-Cache
Processor:12 RISC Power Processor 600 Mega Hertz
RAMSize :12 GB
Hard Disk Size:3.7 TB
Operating System: AIX 4.3
Software Installed:MQSeries Workflow
Content Manager
MQSeries Server
SecureWay (LDAP)
DB2
Oracle

1. This is not documented in any of the manuals, but I believe somewhere I saw that 5 is a good number on an AIX box.
2. This is not documented. Experimentation is the only way I am aware of.
