My requirement is:-
Query on GDC and get distinct workItem.

Is this possible?...

ex. my GDC query is :- "PT:City ='*' AND STATE =RUNNING".
What i want is query should return me a single (distinct) workItem for each city even though there may be more than one workItem present on that city.

or is there any other way to achieve this?

Amit:

I dont see how you can get a single workitem returned per city. If there are multiple instances running then there could be multiple workitems for a city right?

Perhaps I don't understand.

No, may be i have not explained correctly.

ex.
In the oracle db, u can query database using distinct keyword. Say there are 5 records in DataBase where city = "NK" & other 5 records for city = "VA" (total 10 records). When queried oracle using "distinct" I can retrieve only two (one for VA & one for NK) record and not all 10 records.

Can I achieve this using any API supprted by WorkFlow?

I believe this is something that is not supported in Workflow. Just wanted to recofirm this...

Amit:

Now I understand, and in my opinion this is not supported in the MQWF database.

You could post the question to the IBM newsgroup and perhaps one of the developers could give you a definitve answer.
