Hi there,
I try to access a user datatable from a database node on z/OS (WMQI 2.1, CSD03) and get the following error message in the usertrace:
2003-04-24 10:02:45.203824 13 DatabaseException BIP2322E: Database error: SQL State '42705'; Native Error Code '-950'; Error Text '{DB2 for OS/390}{ODBC Driver}
DSNT408I SQLCODE = -950, ERROR: THE LOCATION NAME SPECIFIED IN THE CONNECT STATEMENT IS INVALID OR NOT LISTED IN THE COMMUNICATIONS DATABASE DSNT418I SQLSTATE = 42705 SQLSTATE RETURN CODE
The datatables are in the same database as the broker tables itself.
Other message flows on z/OS, which don't access databases, have been successfully tested. The specific message flow with the database access has successfully been tested on NT.
Is there an entry missing anywhere for the DB2 database on z/OS?
What's the name of the "data source", I have to reference in the database node: the db2 subsystem or the database name?
Thanks for any help,
Barbara |

Hi,
Make sure your datasource is your DB2 Subsystem name. This has happened to me when testing with NT broker/database then moving to 390 broker/database, if I forget to change data source.
I posted a reply similar : http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8507 _________________ Thanks, Margaret

Thanks, Margaret.
I had already changed the data source name to the DB2 subsystem on z/OS when the problem occured.
How does WMQI determine the correct database name, as only data source and data table names are mentioned in the message flow. Which configuration parameter determines the database?
Thanks,
Barbara |

Hi,
Database name does not come into play on 390 WMQI Broker/DB2.
Is it possible that your DB2_LOCATION is not the same as your DB2_SUBSYSTEM name? Sometimes I think of these as the same and they are really not. We have DB2_SUBSYSTEM A which has many DB2_LOCATIONs A1 ,A2, A3
So really we use the DB2_LOCATION in DATASOURCE; at least this is how we have it set up.
Also, check your odbc ini file on USS to see how it is set up with subsystem and datasources. You can also run an ODBC trace from there by setting APPLTRACE=1 _________________ Thanks, Margaret
