if i only have experience in MQ series with Windows platforms will that fly for the 095 mq exam??

To evaluate yourself, you better take a test at brainbench.com (which is free right now).
The TEST is called Websphere MQ.

Windows is not enough. Although in most cases it doesn't matter what platform MQSeries runs on, but there are questions specific to MQ on z/OS and OS/400 in the 095 exam. So it helps to know what a page set is or how to enter MQ commands on these platforms.

| You'll also find questions on the Unix platforms. My experience has been if you have two of the platforms down very good, you'll have a good chance on the test. Also, look over the sample. It will let you know where you are weak. |

I only had experience with UNIX and Windows and managed to scrape through, however my main weakness was that my role is primarily related to installation, configuration, admin and support and yet the test covers application design plus several other areas that I had not practical experience of.
The sample test will give you an idea of the stuff covered:
