Hi.
I'm trying to install MQ7 on my RHEL6 box. I have the installation DVD shared on a folder in my Windows XP PC.
I mount this folder this way:
mount -t cifs //server/MQ /mnt/mq/ -o user=username
When I try to make the installation and accept the license I get:
/mn/mq/mqlicense.sh -accept
/mnt/mqutils/WMQ/mqlicense.sh: line 173: 1745 Segmentation fault ${JRE?} -cp ${LAPCLASSPATH?} com.ibm.lex.lapapp.LAP -l ${PROGPATH?}/lap/licenses -s /tmp/mq_license ${STATUSARG} ${DISPLAYARG}
ERROR: Installation will not succeed unless the license
agreement can be accepted.
This error is a JAVA segmentation fault
If I try /mnt/mqutils/WMQ/lap/jre/jre/bin/java I get:
segmentation fault
In syslog I get:
java[1751]: segfault at 0 ip 000000000029951f sp 00000000ffa45ed4 error 4 in libc-2.12.so[222000+189000]
If I copy locally the installation DVD, everything works fine. Is it possible to install MQ remotely? Am I missing any option in the mount command?
Thanks in advance! |

Are you sure you are using a disk with contents appropriate to your target OS and hardware?
Is the Linux box seeing the executable files as they ought to be seen? Eg. what do you get from
Code: |
file /mnt/mqutils/WMQ/lap/jre/jre/bin/java |

Yes, I'm sure that media is for the right OS.
If I copy the DVD to local disk I can make the installation.
This is the result of the command you gave me:
/mnt/mqutils/WMQ/lap/jre/jre/bin/java: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.2.5, not stripped |

What is your path and what is your JAVA_HOME environment variable pointing to as to java installation? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

I have not JAVA installed in my server, but I suppose it's not needed, right?
If I copy the DVD to a local directory, the installation goes right and I have not JAVA installed neither.......
Could it be something related to execute through a cifs mounted point?
How can you mke the installations without getting the DVD in the server local drive? |
