I use the silent install oprion to install V7 toolkit on my opensuse workstation. The installation completed wirh no error. I was able to start the toolkit. I did not install MQ and broker run time on the Linux work station. I think I do not need it. We jsut want to have toolkit running on the work station for our developers.
However when I tried to connect to a remote borker, the toolkit was stuck on the panel which prompt me for broker name, hostname and port. It does not go to the next panel. I am not sure what should be on the next panel. But I expect it to at least ask what SVRCONN channel that I want to use to connect.
This is the first time I use Linux. Is there anything that I missed ?
The toolkit level is 7002.

I believe you are making the confusion between broker name and broker qmgr name...

It was my mistake in my entry about prompt me for "broker name". It should be Queue Manager name. I did put in the Qmgr name of my broker.
One thing I forgot to mention is I am using the V7 toolkit trial code and the remote V7 broker is on AIX (full licensed not trial code). Not sure if there is some limitation on the V7 trail.

The whole install is under VMWare. I found out that for that page I have to hit enter after I click next before it will move to the next page where as on other pages all I need is click next. This probably is VMware in my environment and nothing to do with the message broker product.
Thanks for the help anyway.
