Hi all
I have this scenario:
I have installed MQ 6 version and Message Broker 6.1... then I was asked to upgrade to MQ 7 version ...
Then If I there are troubles with MQ version 7, I was asked to switch to MQ version 6... but I want to know if I can execute the backup scripts of the Queue Manager on the version 6, and if that configurations will respect the Message Broker 6.1 configuration (Broker Name, Configuration manager name, execution groups, etc)... or do I have to re-create the Message Broker 6.1 components again?
Regards everybody, any help will be appreciated. |

You are better off to go to the last fixpack 7.0.1.6 and work your way through problems from there.
If you want to downgrade, be aware that you will have to restore the file system (/var/mqm or equivalent) from V6. So it is imperative that you take a backup before the upgrade. All traffic handled at V7 and still in queues will be lost unless you offload at V7, clear and reload under V6...
You should not have to touch WMB. However if you downgrade you may have to load the WMQ software again, including the fixpack level.
Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
