Hi all,
I'm trying to execute the setup.exe of the MQClient version 6.0.2.5 on Windows 2003 Server Release2 64 bits, and I'm getting this error:
"error 1719 windows installer service could not be accessed"
I 've been searching the error in google, but all the answers are related to re-register the msiexec, or enabling the Windows installer service ("Everything regarding the Operative System")...
What i wish to know is:
1) if any of you had any similar problem than mine (the same error)?
2) How did you solve it?
And finally i wonder if any of you can help me telling me if:
3) Can this problem be related to some issue regarding the instaler of the MQClient???
I have installed the same MQClient in Win XP R2 32 bits, using the same setup.exe and that worked fine!!! (the problem is ocurring for the Win2003 Server R2 64 bits)
The MQClient Software , is the same for XP and Win 2003 Server , and for all Windows platforms... so there shouldn't be problems with that , are you agree with me?
Any ideas?? Or any possible solutions???
REGARDS GUYS !!!!!!!!!!... |

And how are you installing this 32 bit version on your 64 bit OS? Why do you feel the advice you've already found is not relevant?
And why are you not installing the v7 client? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I have downloaded the MQClient version for windows from:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&context=SSFKSJ&dc=D400&dc=D410&dc=D420&dc=D430&q1=client&uid=swg24009961&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en
The link above doesn't specify if it's for 32 or 64 bits... so I assume It works for both platforms... I only execute the Setup.exe, and then the error apears...
The version of the MQClient I'm installing, is the same that runs on Production so I need to keep the same version on Win 2003 Server, R2 64 bit...
Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for the help |

Like there's a problem with msiexec, or the Windows installer service, as Mr Google said & it's choking on the 32-bit install.

Then this is the answer to your problem. Contact your production server support team and ask what additional steps they took to install it. Most such teams probably have a document containing the information you can use. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Thanks for your reply Vitor...
In the software installation directory "MSI" of the MQClient , there are 2 principal sub-directories: "bin" and "bin64", so I assume that the installation should work for both windows platforms (32 and 64 bits)... I've been looking for all the google pages on the world, and in the IBM webpage, and the only MQClient installation software is listed for generic Windows (never specifies if the platform for Windows is 32 bits or 64 bits).
Unfortunatelly, the production team is from other company, and I'm a bit lonely on this problem
Thanks again... any other idea? |

Right-click on the setup.exe file and run it in compatibility mode. |

Hi mqjeff thanks for your answer.
I think that compatibility mode has nothing to do with the problem ... because this mode is used to create an execution environment like: Windows 95, Windows 98 / Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5) or Windows 2000 ... and this has nothing to do with 64 bits or 32 bits platforms.
Any other idea? Or posible solution?
Regards everybody. |
