Netbook running AMD-C50 dual core processor with 4GB RAM (another story) but am unable to get the Installation manager 1.4.1 to install it throws core dump and java core text file - not seen anything that stands out and prob not qualified enough to read tbh. From wot I read on Broker 7 reqs it just needs to be a x86 processor which this I believe is classed as such, maybe wrong hence it doesnt work obviously. Can supply the dump files if needs be.

Anybody ever tried on netbook device (reason for doing so is to save carting normal laptop about and t just see the toolkit flows even if undeployable.

Thanks

I'd try downloading IM 1.4.3 and test that.

I'm making no comments on whether or not it will work.

I'm merely saying that if it doesn't work at 1.4.1, try 1.4.3.

Or even 1.4.4

BTW, it wasn't so very long ago that the specs of that Netbook would have been regarded as that of a high end laptop (minus display).

I've run V7.0.0.1 toolkit + broker + 5x QMGRS on a ThinkPad T43p with 2GB of Ram. single core 1.8Ghz Pentium M.
That very laptop was used to develop a system used by Transport for London.
(V6.0 though)

@smdavies99 - quite!! in fact thats why i cant see what the issue is as, just for the sake of it have got MQ7 and the runtime running no worries from an install point of view so unless IBM come back with a defo no not for this chipset type one has to assume it is feaseable for one...

so OK gents have tried 1.4.1, 1.4.3 and 1.4.4 and get the same issue - soon as you kick off the install.exe it goes into core dump and java dumps - have even tried the old trick of setting the compatabiity to Vista and even XP and obv run as administrator - so any other suggestions, as this is not a company specific thing per se so won't be able to raise PMR in their name just wanted to see if the little chap could handle the toolkit.

Any other ways to get toolkit on that can circumvent IM?
Any suggestions welcomed.

Thx

What version of Windows 7 are you using?
I would guess that some versions (eg Home) would not ship with the core stuff that you need.

i took all that rubbish off and cleared the netbook - it has dual book ubuntu and windows 7 32 bit ultimate - got the toolkit to run on ubuntu but windos resizing etc makes it a bit of a pain to work with so thought i would do W7 side so far as it is concerned it is Windows 7 32 bit with 1.GHz AMD-C50 and 2GB RAM.
Kind of perplexed how ubuntu for which it isnt supported worked like a dream on installation an good old Microsoft gives me a hard time!

Hussah!! sorted the issue - i apologise deeply to microsoft for slating it being their fault - i copied out the jre from the 1.4.4 and put in another directory and then changed ini file to point ot that as par of VM args and bob is your childrens dad's mother's brother

For information it also uses a different Java version that the previous 1.4.3 with 1.4.4 using Java 6
