Hello,

Is there any official document stating if it's guaranteed okay for communication between different maintainence levels? Like between 6.0.1.1 and 6.0.2.11?

then is there any official doc for even different MQ versions? Like MQ 5.3.0.4 and 6.0.2.11?

Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest that you refer to the WMQ Intercommunications manual.

MQ 5.3.0.4 I suggest you upgrade fast. It has been out of support for over 3 years...

Unless you pay for extended support like us

MQ versions are interoperable. Certainly as far back as 5.3.

Look in the "Migrating Websphere MQ" section of the MQ 7 Info Center. This topic is addressed in detail.

The MQ v7.0 general announcment letter states "Compatibility: WebSphere® MQ V7.0 queue managers and clients interoperate with queue
managers and clients from any previous level of WebSphere MQ or MQSeries® products."

I have yet to see any interoperation issues with MQ channels between different versions of MQ. The Message Channel Agents negotiate the lowest common level of protocol and use that.
