Anyone tried to apply WMB Toolkit 7 FP3 using the downloaded installation bundle as opposed to pointing installation manage at an online repository ?
I downloaded FP3 from here:-
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24030768
Verified that the download file was the matching size, unzipped the file and ran installation manager (v1.3.4.1). Pointed to the 7.0.0.3 repository file and started the update process. Installation manager detected my installed toolkit v7.0.0.2 but on the screen where 7.0.0.3 was shown as being available for installation I get a red X icon at the top of the pane with the text "Failed to load bundle com.ibm.wmb.tools.prereq.check.", the "Update" button is greyed out and unavailable.
Installation Manager will perform the update fine from an online repos but I get the above error situation when attempting an update using the local download file.
Anyone else had this ?
Thanks. |

Best bet is open a PMR.
Don't know that your IT Ops people would support you on the latest FP. Most organizations stay two or three FPs behind the most recent. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

Some organizations. Others foam at the mouth if a new FP's been out for 48 hours and you've not applied it. Other organizations (as we've all seen) are happy two or three major versions behind the most recent.
Not saying which method is better or worse; just saying "most" is an unwarrented generalisation. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

In a similar way, as suggested above, i downloaded the zipped package, and then configured the repository in the preferences of IBM Installation Manager.
When i initiated to install the package, i received the same error as suggested.
To add further, when configured Installation Manager to install via Internet, then too after initial few exectuable steps, i reached the same error.
Seems some issue with the fix pack. |

Two FPs behind the most recent would mean Version: 7.0.0.2
Build id: 7.0.0.2-IFix-20110310_1127. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

It worked for me with IM 1.4.3. Please try to upgrade your IM and apply the fixpack again. |

The latest IM (Installation Manager) is 1.4.4. I've used that to install 7.0.0.3 without issue. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Were those successful installs using the offline "zip" install package from the link I supplied in the original post ?
I'll try upgrading to the latest installation manager and see if that makes any difference. |

Yes. I make a point of downloading the .zip file first and I only use online updates for ifixes etc. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Right, updated Installation Manager to latest version (1.4.4) and tried again with my previously downloaded WMB Toolkit 7.0.0.3 zip file. Installation was successful so it looks like the 7.0.0.3 broker install isn't compatible with IM 1.3.4.1 contrary to the prereqs list. |
