Hi,

I'm Running WMB Toolkit 7 FP3 on Windows and have been attempting to port a user defined node from WMB6. After getting nowhere (node wouldn't appear in tookit palette) I decided to run through the sample user node tutorial included with toolkit. The sample node jar built fine and I installed it into the correct <installdir>/plugins folder successfully. However upon restarting toolkit with -clean the node was not present on the palette.

So, I rolled back toolkit 7 FP3 to 7.0.0.1 and restarted, lo and behold the sample tutorial user node appeared on the palette together with the original node I'd been trying to port and the IA9C GetVar support pac node I'd installed the other day (which also hadn't appeared in 7 FP3).

Is this a bug in 7 FP3 or has something changed re: user nodes which isn't reflected in the help / tutorial pages ?

Many thanks!

Update: User defined nodes "work" in toolkit version 7 FP2 so looks like FP3 broke them.

I am confused when you talk about Fixpack 3 of Toolkit.

There does not appear to be any such thing as Toolkit v7.0.0.3, just 7.0.0.2.x.

Perhaps you should run Installation Manager and ensure your Toolkit is actually at the current correct level.

Or you should be more clear if you are having issues in the Toolkit or in the Runtime (which *is* 7.0.0.3).

Sorry, I'm talking about WMB Toolkit version 7, FP3. I don't have the runtime installed.

To determine toolkit version, Go to Help -> About. You should see a value like:

Quote:
Version: 7.0.0.2 Build id: 7.0.0.2-IFix-20110310_1127

To determine runtime version, mqsireportbroker <broker_name>

Quote:
"Fixpack capability level = '7.0.0.2' (effective level '7.0.0.2')

Okay, but.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING as "WMB Toolkit Version 7, FP3".

This page shows that it was released on 26th Aug 2011.

Start your Download engines now... Or maybe not if you use UDN's.

Okay... the page I posted updated while I wasn't looking... .

But regardless, adubya couldn't have been testing this at the time of original post, which was aug 25.

And I took steps to update my own toolkit before responding the first time.

Thankyou, I'm not going mad after all

BTW: I see your location is down as Aldershot. I live very close (GU12 postcode) and work in Farnborough.

And my original post still stands, it would appear that user defined nodes are broken in Toolkit 7.0.0.3. Anyone else able to verify this ?

The list of fixes in Toolkit 7.0.0.3 shows some APARs around User Defined Nodes...

Suggest you open a PMR, or at least review the APARs.

Looks like this might just be a problem with Toolkit 7.0.0.3 and the GetEnv IA9C supportpac. Works in 7.0.0.2 but not in 7.0.0.3 and when I create my own node in 7.0.0.3 then I can see my own node on the palette. Sorry for all the confusion!

Let me guess, you work in a building right next door to the Rushmoor Council Offices...
I'm in the phone book.

I have a paper book full of numbers on my desk at work produced by the local phone company. There's another at home by a different phone company.

Alarmingly they don't provide my home phone.

So it's not just a U.K. thing. Just your Nirvana that's gone green.
