Hi,

I am new to MQ, can you please tell me any one what is the difference between clusrcvr and rcvr chl? why is the conname is mandatory field in clusrcvr def and why it is not in rcvr chl def?

well, the first difference is the four letters 'clus' at the front of the name...

that stands for 'cluster'.

Cluster Receiver channels are used as model channels for automatically defined cluster senders from all of the rest of the qmgrs in the cluster.

When adding a given qmgr to a cluster, you create two objects. The first is a cluster sender to a full repository (ideally, you create two of these, one to each of the exactly two full repositories). The second is a cluster receiver to this queue manager, with the conname that matches the address and listener port of this queue manager.

Then the rest of the qmgrs use this information to automatically define relevant cluster sender channels that match up the cluster receiver you just built.

Regular receiver channels are *NOT* used as model channels.
