Well, one of the major differences is that Tibco uses IP multicast, which seems very cool in a pub/sub situation, but for point to point architectures you end up with a lot of needless network traffic... _________________ Brandon Duncan

The M53 WMQ Pub/Sub session at the conference had a chart in it about "WebSphere MQ Brokers Preview (Internet Reach)". One of the bullets is multicast. |

Hi, here by i am giving the few diff btn MQseries and Tibco Rendezvous basic messaging features:
MQSeries:
----------
1. The major advantage over tibco is the Queue object - to which message can be written any time without having an application running to process the queue, means, for example u can consider non real time applications - Main Frames.
In case of Tibco Always there need to be a listener running (callback) to receive the messages sent by the sender.
MQQUEUE is a basic storage point btn sender and receiver, provided by IBM, where as in Tibco there isn't one. But u can achieve this in different ways on u r own.
And the persistance option provided by the MQQueue/Message is the Major adv than TIbco RV. (which is very important and useful feature in case of Transaction Managed process)
Tibco has kind of this in Certified Messaging Delivery, but it still needs the listener running all the time.
2. The MQSeries Queue Manager can act as Transaction Server, where as in Tibco there isn't one.
3. MQSeries is supported on many platforms (nearly 34....), where as Tibco is not. And even the language support of MQ is more (ie: different API's).
Tibco:
-------
1. Tibco RV is very faster compared to MQSeries, since it runs on UDP (this UDP is Tibco UDP which is more improved version than regular UDP in different aspects). MQSeries also supports UDP, but only on AIX.
Because of faster messaging Tibco is the favorite in Financial application (especially in Trading....)
2.And the fault Tolerant feature provided in Tibco is far better than MQ Clustering in many aspects.
3.Tibco has better multicast capablity. This can also be achieved in MQSeries Pub/Sub.
And many more....
Technology consideration btn MQSeries and Tibco depends on Application (platform, persistance, fastness.....)
thanks |
