The right way to get IBM to pay attention to this topic is to use the "feedback" link in the Info Center.

If enough people use that and request, *politely*, that some kind of epub document be produced, it is *possible* that this will be done.

I wouldn't wait for Guffman on it, though.

However if you can print what you want, there is a free printer driver that generates a PDF file (PDFCreator). Better than nothing.

Well I could print each page to a pdf and there are tools to BIND all pages into one big PDF. It is certainly doable. But will I do it. You bet!!! If it is needed. But how many will be doing it?

For the sake of discussion. How difficult would it be to create a PDF document on the fly say if I am reading a MQ intercommuncation manual. I register on IBM site. When I click on export to PDF, a message would be sent to IBM site. The IBM server checks , user wanted an up to date PDF, does the infocenter edition match the pdf we have on our site? if not, user would be responded, "we are updating the pdf you requested, once updated a link will be sent to your registerd email address". Come on its doable and IBM just does not want to do this. As regards to comments saying PDF is static and dead, well it is not if one is willing to help the customers and interested in what used to be called as customer service.

No, IBM believe they don't need to do this. If enough people use the feedback button, they'll probably change their minds.

I repeat.

The only way to get anything changed at all, rather than continuing to indulge in pointless speculation and dialog, is to file a feedback.

Everything else is just random conversation on the internet.

I listened to the good Samaritans.

Went to http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv7/v7r0/index.jsp
There is a feedback link. I clicked on it. Now I am still waiting for the feedback page to load. Tried in FF and IE and nothing works. Is it just me or you are in the same boat?

Now how to give feedback on feedback page

It's just you.

I've tried IE7, IE8, FF3.6 and FF4 and all seems well.

Though in fairness I could have got in the time it took IE7 to load the page.

(Corporate standards...)

E-mail your IBM account rep.

Or write via snail mail if technical problems persist.

The important point, which my most worthy associate makes so well, is that change will come from IBM finding out through recognised channels there's a customer requirement they're not meeting. Your IBM rep is one such channel who's paid to listen to you so go for it!

Not from a bunch of techies (even such an august gathering as this) chatting on the Internet.

Well did not load on FF5 and IE8.
Try http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv7/v7r0/topic/com.ibm.mq.doc/feedback_r.htm?com.ibm.mq+Welcome_page

I went thru another route(through my employer) and sent in my feedback.

Thanks.

I still believe we better have a POLL to gauze how the user of this forum feel. I think a moderator may have to set this up.

Why?

1) Your opinion (as expressed to IBM) is as valid as the next person's. You don't need the weight of the community behind you.

2) If we do have a poll, and it transpires that the entire registered user base agrees with you, it adds exactly no weight to your opinion with IBM.

But in my official position as moderator I exhort all those who would have agreed with anveshita to rise up and click those feedback links. Or in the event of technical issues, otherwise contact IBM.

I suppose in the interests of balance, anyone who doesn't agree had better leave feedback as well, or the view will be biased.

During my tenure as host of the official position, I advise all those who have agreed to increase anveshita, and click the feedback link. Events or technical problems, otherwise, please contact IBM.
