Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

According to this page http://www-01.ibm.com/software/globalization/ccsid/ccsid285.html
CCSID 285 is valid for what you are getting. 285 is UK Ebcidic without the Euro Symbol.
Just like there are many slightly versions of ISO-8859 Character Sets, there are also many versions of EBCIDIC ones. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

No, messages do not spontaneously convert. Use the available debugging tools (such as rfhutil, amqsbcg0, M071, usertrace, Trace node, etc.) to narrow down where the ccsid changes from 285 to 37. That might offer some clue as to what component is performing the conversion.
Setting the output ccsid to 1208 might appear to work, at least most of the time, but if the input ccsid is wrong, some characters may not convert as expected. |

No, messages do not spontaneously convert.
But you may encounter some default settings. Like if you write the message with a CCSID of 0 you will get the CCSID of the qmgr you are attached to.
Now if this is 37, there may be your implicit conversion... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
