I need help in figuring out this strange error AMQ4036. I installed MQ explorer and created "domain mqm" group in Active Directory and added a user to that group.

As part of the installation MQ created mqm group on the local windows box and added domain mqm group as member.

It failed to create MUSR_MQADMIN user but whne I did amqmsrvn -regserver it created the user and added to mqm group locally. The user I am using to query is an admin on that box still I am getting this error..

What am I missing. Please help.

Which user is getting the error?

What user is running the WMQ service?

Did you follow all the steps for running WMQ in a Windows domain, including the service user for domain inquiry?

Where did you obtain the impression that the membership of the administrator group had any relevance?

Then you need to verify the WMQ service user does have the domain authority you think it does (as per the manual) - your Windows admin is the guy to speak to about that.

If that's ok, enable security events on the queue manager to see exactly what's failing & act accordingly. Remember to disable them when you're sorted.
