Hello everyone

I know to save the qm definition in a file we use saveqmgr command according with the following link http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24000673 but in the context in the documentation, they use to backup the qm definition and we can restore in other system.

Normally I backup the qm definitions to export in other OS, same OS as the source, (Windows to Windows, Linux to Linux) In theory we can move from Solaris to Linux, because both are UNIX systems, but Im not completely sure if some considerations should be taken.

Please Advise

The runmqsc script saveqmgr produces is portable between platforms.

The only consideration would be the security moving to/from Windows, where Windows allows authorities to be granted to a principle, other platforms only to a group.

Ideally by creating the queue manager on the target system and running the saveqmgr script into it.

Vitor.... I expected better from you! The qm.ini contains information that does not get saved by saveqmgr...

And the best way to recreate the qm.ini is to create a queue manager on the target box with the same parameter (number of primary log files and so forth) than to copy the qm.ini from one box to another.

Thank you for the consideration of the qm.ini.
