WebSphere MQ cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.
System Error 1612.
Cause :
The problem occurs due to the inability to find the 'IBM WebSphere MQ.msi' file to perform the uninstall of WebSphere MQ V6.
During the installation of WebSphere MQ V7, it checks the registry for the key
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\\SourceList\Last
UsedSource".
If the key is found, it uses the value held in the key to find the
installable.
In this case, the path for the key is 'F:\source\WebSphere MQ 6\MSI\'.
.
When we looked for that path, we were unable to find the 'WebSphere MQ 6' directory. Therefore, the installation is failing since we are unable to find the path. Since the 'LastUsedSource' key indicates the location of the WebSphere MQ V6 installable, we are unable to remove the WebSphere MQ V6 product. The WebSphere MQ V6 product is internally removed by our installation package. The removal of the previous product is necessary in order to install the WebSphere MQ V7 product.
Resolution :
1) Create a directory 'F:\source\WebSphere MQ 6\MSI\'.
2) Find the 'IBM WebSphere MQ.msi' file by searching the system
3) Once you find the .msi, copy it into the 'F:\source\WebSphere MQ
6\MSI' directory
4) Perform the installation of WebSphere MQ V7. |

If you got a problem, what happened when you followed the 4 step resolution at the bottom?

Too late. You are upgrading to the wrong version. At this point in time GA for 7.0.1 is 7.0.1.3... so forget about 7.0.1.1

@Vitor -- We were able to install it successfully.  .I just through of sharing it.
@fjb_saper ---> we did install 7013 as well
