We are running MQ Version 7.0.1.3 and Message Broker version 7.0.0.2.
We are planning to add 3 more queue managers and brokers and this is
running in Red Hat Linux OS version 5.. Currently our kernel
configration is as follows:
kernel.msgmni = 16
kernel.shmmni = 4096
kernel.shmall = 4294967296
kernel.sem = 500 256000 250 1024
fs.file-max = 787297
questions:
is it recommended to have all these on the same server?
If yes, what are the recommended kernel settings?
message load on each broker/day will be around 5 million.
please advice....
Apart from the obvious due diligence about sizing think about the separation requirements especially if you want / need to upgrade and have to have a full application outage (MQ or WMB) for the box. _________________ MQ & Broker admin

@ fjb..
Thanks for the reply
According to application architects, it is OK to have an outage.
All these will be multi instance.
The reason for diligent effort is the licensing cost.
