I had WMB 7, DB2 9.7 and Windows 7 all working on 64 bit. Then I had to use WTX 8.3 with WMB 7 and I couldn't deploy flows with the WTX node onto the 64-bit broker. Some googling told me that WTX on windows is only 32 bit and therefore I need to use a 32-bit WMB. So I uninstalled my 64-bit WMB 7 and installed the 32-bit WMB 7. After reinstalling WTX I could then deploy flows with the WTX node.
However, this broke my DB connectivity. I now get the following ODBC error:
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application'
So my question is: does anyone know if I can connect to a 64-bit DB2 instance from a 32-bit WMB 7 instance running on Windows 7? And if so how?
Any help appreciated. I've tried creating the ODBC data source using the different tools outlined in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942976, but I still got the same error. |

If I had a choice, I would remove WTX. You can do everything you need to do with the base product without WTX.
If that is not an option, ask your DBA to install 32-bit ODBC driver. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

I know I gave up trying to get a 64-bit version of WMB to talk to a 32-bit database because I couldn't find an ODBC driver/configuration they both liked.
I was able to give up because my upgrade to WMBv7 is now scheduled after the platform upgrade to 64-bit (Win2008 I believe) and after the database has gone to 64-bit as a consequence. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Thanks for the replies.
I upgraded DB2 9.7 to fix pack 4 and recreated the 32-bit ODBC data sources using the application %WINDIR%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe and now it works! |
