Hi ,
We are planning to migrate from WMB 6.0 and WMB 6.1(RAD) to WMB 7.
The different nodes (apart from the normal ones - MQ , http , compute ...)
XSL transform
IA9a support pac (XSD validation)
email plugin node
soap plugin
My question really here is are all the support pacs compatible with WMB 7. As in the same bar files could it be deployed rather than having to run a whole build again with the appropriate version of code.
And in general wanted to know the kinds of issues faced with migrating all types nodes , different types message sets , custom java code and JDK versions and stuff to keep in mind while migrating (other than the migration process extensively given by IBM)
It would be very kind if you'll shared any major glitches during the standard migration process that should be taken care off (and not documented by IBM).
Thanks and Cheers

Moving this to the more appropriate WMB forum... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

My experience is to build again will yield the best results. Some support paks are not supported on later versions.
I would recommend you not overlook the necessity to have some development time to migrate your functionality. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

I don't believe the email support pack will work in v7 so you will need to use the SendMail node included in v7.
However, the SendMail node and the email support pack are configured differently and have different message format requirements.
We also had to 'redo' the WTX nodes between v6 (support pack) and v7 (built in with WTX). The node configuration was very different between the two versions there. |
