I see the discussion about using MQTCPSDRPORT this to limit ports through a firewall but Im having trouble finding exact syntax to use it. Help for an idiot please!

Try looking at SupportPac MA86:

http://www-3.ibm.com/software/ts/mqseries/txppacs/ma86.html

It gives details:

set MQTCPSDRPORT=LLLL,HHHH
where LLLL=lowest port number allowed
HHHH= highest port number allowed

so, set MQTCPSDRPORT=2001,2003
