Hi,
I have an application on JDEdwards which is trying to communicate to MQ.
I am aware of MQ but have no knowledge on JDEdwards. Can anyone help me on what is the configuration on the JDEdwards side to put a message in a Queue?
I have IBM Websprhere MQv7.0 installed |

While on one hand,  .
This allows one to connect other things, that know MQ, to JDEdwards. It doesn't necessarily allow you to connect JDEdwards directly to MQ.
However, I did a search on Mr Google for "JDEdwards MQ" and found some things. Of course, I don't know if they're any use, but. |

, yes, it takes to the oracle sites and other sites but none of them gives much and direct info. related to JDEdwards + MQ connections.

If yes, then I went through this. It is not of much help. I also went through couple of links on the oracle site. I am sure that JD Edwards can communicate to MQ by configuring some parameters. I am trying to figure out the parameters to be configured and where can I find them on the JDE side.  |

Thanks for the response. The second link is all about Message Broker and JD Edwards. I might need it as my second step (if I need to transform my message received on the queue, etc)
But my requirement is even more simple. I have to just post a message to the Queue from JDE and I am not sure where to make the configurations on JDE to do the same There should be some settings in JDE where we can mention the server, Queue Manger and Queue Name. As far as I understand these are the only 3 things we need to connect to a queue and post a message. Am I missing on anything? |

If by "server" you mean the host name and the port number, then no. You might need a user id depending on set up.
You might have more luck posting on a JDEdwards forum, and asking about JMS support.

To connect to the any mq qmgr you might need some channel (application specific channel NOT the system defined channels of mq)., that's missing. And yes, permissions to connect to the qmgr using some userid/passwd (as Vitor said)

I'm not aware of any requirement for an application to connect to a queue manager using an ID and a password. It's more likely that Vitor was alluding to an MCAUSER.

I never said password. That would be a bit unusual.

I was thinking of potentially needing to supply a user id (not a password) to the connection.
Though it would be best practice not to have the server supply the user id but to set an MCAUser.
