does somebody knows a method to export directly from buildtime db to runtime db? not using fmcibie... because i have problems in codepage conversions....

The only was to import into runtime DB is using 'fmcibie'.

what is the problem you are having? May be someone here might be able to help you.

my problem is that i have a db with codepage 1208 (utf- and when i import to this one from buildtime db (codepage 1252) all accents (á é í ó ú)are converted to underscore (_)....

How are you sending the file from 1252 machine to 1208 machine
ftp? or how?

I have no Idea how to do it, but there are some FTP clients available that do the code page conversion. May be they will be helpful.

Ever heard of SBDATACONN

I have done ftp from 1252 to 37 (os/390). Never did that with solaris.

After opening the ftp client

type in

QUOTE SITE SBDATACONN=(IBM-1047,ISO8859-1)

and then do the ftp put.

May be you will have to see what you have to specify inside the brackets in the above command.

Let us know if are successful in finding what those values are.

solved! i put locale to en_US.UTF-8 and everything works fine... before to this i had LANG and LC_ALL set to C...
