I am facing the following error while trying to start a broker on my local system on Windows XP.

C:\Program Files\IBM\MQSI\6.0>mqsistart CHN_BRK
AMQ8118: WebSphere MQ queue manager does not exist.
BIP8056E: The component's WebSphere MQ Queue Manager 'CHN_QMGR' does not exist.

The command cannot be executed because the Queue Manager associated with this co
mponent does not exist.
Recover the queue manager or delete and then recreate the component. If the comp
onent is a Configuration Manager, you should be careful NOT to delete its databa
se tables.


I have checked the queue is working fine with the channels to the CONFIG MGR running fine.

does anybody has idea about what can be the cause of the above issue.

Hi,

whats the status of the queue manager when you run the command dspmq ?

the status of the queue manager is running. there seems to be no problem with the qmgr.

What I think is that the broker is not able to connect to the queue manager. What are the places we can check this config?

The queue manager name is the only configuration parameter needed as the broker is using a binding connection to its queue manager.

Is this a new broker setup?
If yes what steps have you executed so far ?
