Does MQ series guaranty the order of the message delivery?
In other words, does it guaranty the FIFO delivery? |
No. |
It does when certain, rather restrictive and not necessarily wise conditions are met. |
WMQ assures (not guarantees) message delivery.
Assured message delivery is explained in detail in the Application Programming Reference, and other documents. Orderly retrieval of messages is also discussed.
An example where WMQ cannot assure orderly (in-order) delivery, and thus retrieval, of messages: one of the messages in the sequence ends up in a dead-letter queue.
If you need to ask "why would a message end up in a dead-letter queue?", then you need to understand WMQ fundamentals. You can get this knowledge by downloading and reading this http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg247128.html?Open _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
