Hi friends
I am using windows7 64 but OS. I have installed all the below required s/ws...
Websphere eclipse platform v3.3
MQ 7.0
IBM Installation Manager v1.3.4
Websphere MB 7.0 containing MB broker and MB explorer
then downloaded the MB toolkit from ibm website
I am following the below process to install the MB toolkit......
To add the update repository location in IBM Installation Manager:
1.Start IBM Installation Manager.
2.In the Start panel of Installation Manager, click File > Preferences, and then click Repositories. The Repositories panel is displayed.
3.In the Repositories panel, click Add Repository.
4.In the Add repository panel, browse to (or enter) the file path of the repository.config file, which is located in a sub-directory of the directory where you extracted the compressed files. For example:
C:\temp\updates\MB6100_6101\repository.config (Windows)
5.When the repository.config file is selected, click Open, then click OK to close the Add Repository panel. Click OK again to close the Preference panel.
To find and install the Message Broker Toolkit fix pack as a local update:
1.Start IBM Installation Manager.
2.In the Start panel of Installation Manager, click Update Packages.
3.If a newer version of Installation Manager is found, you are prompted to confirm that you want to install it before you can continue. Click OK to proceed. Installation Manager automatically installs the new version, stops, restarts, and resumes.
4.In the Update Packages wizard, select the installed location for WebSphere Message Broker Toolkit and click Next. Installation Manager searches for available updates on the Web, as well as any repository locations that you entered. A progress indicator shows that the search is taking place If you are also installing the Installation Manager local update at the same time, it is also displayed.
I followed all above steps. But still not able to install the toolkit. When I open IM and try to install the toolkit packages IM does not show any packages to install. I checked and the tested the connection to these packages in File>Preferences>Repository which is showing connected.
If anyone has faced this issue please letme know how to resolve. |

You likely only downloaded the Toolkit fixpack rather than the main toolkit. The main toolkit install is not publicly available on IBM's website.
You have to download it from either a trial package or from your software entitlement - which requires a login. |

Thanks 4d reply Jeff...
I have my login id to ibm site. But where can I get the trial package of MB toolkit?Do you mean that I need to purchase the MB toolkit s/w - which requires a login?
Earlier I downloaded MB Toolkit from below link.

That's an Interim Fix, not a full package.
You need to discuss this issue with your local team or your manager.
You need to download the full installer. You either need to log into passport advantage or partnerworld or whatever your entitlment is, or you need to search on your own for the trial version and download that.
If you use the Toolkit from the trial version, and you are talking to fully licensed brokers then it may not work or the toolkit may expire at the end of your trial period.
So DO NOT USE that unless you ARE making a trial.
Again, talk to your local team about where the correct installers are available. |

You have to ask someone where you work. Or ask your IBM sales rep. |

for downloading the trial version there is no need for the PA. so site no is also not required. |

But you won't be using the trial version for the reasons given by my most worthy associate. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
