What is the maximum setting for MaxChannel parameter?

MQ v7 Infocenter says the max is 65 535.

Each active channel does take some memory, how many do you need? A thousand is a good starting point, the IBM default being a little dated.

for mq v6.0..
MaxChannels=100|number The maximum number of channels allowed. The default is 100.

for mq v7.0..
MaxChannels=100|number
The maximum number of channels allowed, in the range 1 - 9999. The default is 100.

Not only MaxChannels but you should also take care of MaxActiveChannels value. You can discuss with application(s) connecting to your qmgr and how many connections do they request at the most., accordingly you can set it.
