Hi,

I am installing MQ v7.0 in windows system (XP, version 2002). But the installation wizard is not getting completed, it simply stays as it is with this message "Please wait while the wizard installs Websphere MQ. This might take several minutes".

I was waiting for more than half hour but it did not complete even then. Could it be permission problem, I have got Admin access but I am not sure whether this wizard requires one more level permission to do something with registry.

You'll definitely need permission to modify the registry... but then I thought that was a given with admin permissions or have they separated these 2 at your site?

The Quick Beginnings clearly states 'ensure the wizard is run with Administrator privilege, otherwise the wizard might fail."

So, do you have full admin rights? Or a subset?

The MQ installer produces several log files in %TEMP%, have a look at these (particularly the biggest one) to see what might be going wrong.

BTW, if you need to know, the Prepare WebSphere MQ Wizard log file is<wmq_data_directory\amqmjpse.log.
