Hi,

I tried to install Message broker 6.0 on Windows 7 with MQ 6.0 and DB2 8.2. Installation has been completed and a sample broker and config manager has been created without any issues. But the services are not getting started from Service interface. Below Error has been shown at the time when we tried to start the service

Windows Couldn't start the IBM Websphere Message Broker component <Broker-name> service on local computer.
Error - 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.

Similar error was shown on the event viewer also.
Any suggestion to overcome this situation?

Thanks
Vimlesh

Don't install 6.0.

It goes out of support in ONE MONTH.

Start over.

With 7.0.

We are trying the possibilities of installing MB 6.0 on Windows 7 as the new windows image contains Windows 7 Pro edition, but we have the license of MB 6.0. Installtion has been completed with all the necessary components, but boker and configmgr services are not getting started.

Is there any issue with the user credential or some security setting?

Nothing other than MB 7.0 or later will EVER work on Windows 7.

Nothing you can do can make MB 6.0 or 6.1 run on Windows 7.

At all.

Full Stop.

Upgrade your system to Windows XP Pro.

Alternatively put your install in W7 in a Vm in virtualBox if its just for POC.

If you have a license for WMB 6.0 then you are licensed for all subsequent WMB versions, that were released during the period when you paid the IBM maintenance fee (as I understand it).

I'm not an IBM sales rep.

I would agree that if you owned a v6.x.x.x license and are current on the maintenance payments, you could use any 6.x.x.x you wanted. AFAIK, IBM has charged new money for new version, like from 6.x.x.x to 7.x.x.x.

mqjeff is correct, no need breaking a sweat with v6. There is no benefit to doing anything with v6, since it is no longer supported next month.

Upgrade your license to v7, its faster, simpler and less trouble. v7 installs seamlessly on any Windows version. To PoC it, use the timed demo version on the IBM website.

Try ALT-F4. But if that doesn't work, the format would get you started correctly. Have you taken the WM663 class or the WM643 class? If not, why not?

If you cannot upgrade to XP, have you tried the XP compatibility mode?
Although without any guaranties... I don't believe it is the same as running under XP...
