Hi guys,
I setup the complete webgateway and sample application.
Initially without creating the users, I started the sample application or the web console, I had direct access into the apps. Figured that all the wmqfte-**** users listed in the infocenter needed to be created in WAS, and so I did.
On doing so, I had a login page for both my sample application and the wmqfte console. I further created some users in the wmqfte console with default filespaces.
But none of this is allowing me access into the sample application...
Anyone with experience on this ?
Regards.

What leads you to believe that you don't have access to the sample applications? Some kind of error message perhaps? If so, post it here? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

I'm getting a user/password incorrect sort of an error, basically that I'm not authorized to login, and I've been trying all sorts of users.
I'm trying to figure out WHERE do I need to create the users who will have rights to access the sample application. I've already tried creating users via the MQFTE WebGateway Console and the WAS Admin console.

on the WAS side of things did you make sure that the condition
Code: |
Principal is in role |
is satisfied? It it not enough to define a user, it also needs to be in the right role and usually the role authorization needs to be attributed to a group...

I get "The username/password entered was not valid" over the login or "http://localhost:9080/wmqftesamples/j_security_check;" in the URL.

Exactly...but this is what I can't figure out (I'm not a WAS guy)...where do I create the roles, I tried the "Administrative user roles" under "Users and Groups".
I'm basically looking for someone to tell me what "user roles in web gateway" part in the following link means in WAS terms..
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqfte/v7r0/topic/com.ibm.wmqfte.doc/web_security_req.htm
and point 12 means in http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqfte/v7r0/topic/com.ibm.wmqfte.doc/web_was7.htm
Regards. |

AFAIK, and I am not a WAS guy, the roles are defined in the EJB's deployment descriptor. The OS group to role assignment finds place in the WAS Admin console (somewhere).
Get some help with this from your friendly WAS Admin.

Hi guys,
Got it working...now that I think of it, was quite straightforward
Created the groups employees, managers etc etc in the WAS groups, and my custom users. During deployment, just associated the application roles to the defined WAS groups.
Got a few other doubts now that it's working, but will open another topic for it.
Thanks for the support.
Regards. |
