Its turning tricky day by day.
I think i have to investigate more.
I can't understand how all the small messages are disppearing in No time.

And also now i am doubting the xml structure which is being transferred.
else Filesgateway could be the culprit.

So as many of you suggested, if i can't find out the solution on Monday. I will open a PMR with IBM.

Thanks,
Navya.

So, you are saying that if a mix small and large messages are put to the xmit queue, the small(er) messages are transmitted successfully, yes?

Do the channels at both ends stay in RUNNING state? Or some other state after you put the large messages to the xmit queue?

Hi Please find channel definition.
Quote:

DISPLAY CHANNEL(XX.TO.YY)
3 : DISPLAY CHANNEL(XX.TO.YY)
AMQ8414: Display Channel details.
CHANNEL(XX.TO.YY) CHLTYPE(SDR)
ALTDATE(2008-08-13) ALTTIME(20.46.30)
BATCHHB(0) BATCHINT(0)
BATCHSZ(50) COMPHDR(NONE)

CONVERT(NO) DESCR(Messages for xx)

SHORTTMR(60) SSLCIPH( )
SSLPEER( ) STATCHL(OFF)
TPNAME( ) TRPTYPE(TCP)
USERID( ) XMITQ(xx)

These days the channel is not getting started automatically, though there are messages in transq, if i manually start the channel then the messages are getting transmitted.
bruce @ If i transfer small messages the channel will be running, if i drop a large (not even 100kb) the message is disappering from the transmission queue but not being transferred to remote server, MQ logs are getting updated with TCP/IP error. and if i stop the channel the message is coming back to transmission q.

What is the channel state after you put the large messages to the xmit queue?

What?? Another symptom? What other symptoms are you not telling us?

Is the xmit queue triggered? Is there a channel initiator running? Are there trigger messages in the initq?

Hi All,

Many thanks for all your help.
As many of you instructed it has proven that it is n/w issue.
N/w team is investigating.

I don't like to say I told you so, but I'm going to anyway and just not enjoy it.

Well done on getting the network people to admit there was actually a problem so quickly.

I'm having immense difficulty believing that...

I'm not responsible for your beliefs (if any).

It's just depressing that 6 days ago the OP was given an assurance it wasn't a network issue. And yet once again one's turned up.

It's encouraging that it only took the OP 6 days to get this U-turn. In the face of a non-total outage. My experience is that 12 - 48 hours is about right for a total failure, even if you have a channel log message with "destination host unreachable" in it.

And I'm sure the network people will also assure the OP that it was nothing they did, that no changes were made to cause the issue in the first place, and that it will suddenly, and very magically, start working again.

There are those whom even in the face of incontrovertible evidence, will deny any involvement or complicity, e.g. "...there are no American tanks in Baghdad..." (Comical Ali's reply to a reporter whose camera-man had framed the said vehicles in the shot).

It's inevitable.

Now we are unable to connect the server using Remote Desktop nor ping it.

Seems like some network device is degrading the performance day by day, and finally came to a point that it can't work any more.

So now they have to accept and investigate.

Long ago I ran out of fingers, toes and patience, counting the number of times it was "the network" despite denial by the network support team.

"We changed nothing" usually means "we documented nothing" or "we didn't ask or receive prior approval" or "we didn't (thoroughly) test" or "we didn't have a plan" or "we didn't have a fall-back plan."

I think this is the first time we've got such a widely experienced phenomenon.
