Good morning. I am a MQ person, but failed into WAS world on a customer's site with problems. To update a Portal, we had to stop de deploy manager, put a JAR file in a specific place, then start the DMGR again.
Here the problems begun :
The DMGR is a WAS at the very end, isn't it ?
We look into Windows services and find 3 WASes, with very general names, nothing related to "deploy" neither "manager".
My questions are : is there a command (or a way or whatever) to display the name of the DMGR ?
And a related question : is there a way to display the status of the DMGR ?
The only items I have found is a BAT file (!!!???) to display the Version of the WAS and another BAT (???!!!) to display the Version of the Portal ...
Enjoy the weekend. Sdbastian. |

It's been several versions since I've played with either Portal or WAS, but from what I recall, the dmgr has a separate install and different admin commands to start/stop. I think in modern versions, it's a different instance. |

You can use manageprofiles command to list all the profiles including Deployment Manager
Also, to start/stop dmgr, just do stopmanager/startmanager
That will invoke the windows service anyway. So you are ok either way
Also, if you closely look at the service, the one that has dmgr is the deployment manager |

there are was instances and one of them is the deploy manager. A dmgr controls the others was instances. To display the status, if unix you can do a ps-ef | grep java and look for something called dmgr. If windows there is normaly a windows service started.

not always, when a profile is created if a dmgr exists a dmgr01 is created. |
