Hi All,
I am using Message broker toolkit Version: 7.0.0.1 Build id: 7.0.0.1-20100630_0750. I want to configure log4j for this. I followed all the steps provided by log4j documentation but not able to see the node under construction tab in the pallatte.
Only difference i made is, I installed toolkit C:\Program Files\IBM\WMBT7002 this folder structure as i had installed toolkit in C:\Program Files\IBM\WMBT700, so it was not allowing me to use this that folder.
Could you please help me. |

Don't use the support pac to access log4j. Instead, use Java Compute Node and write to log4j just like any other Java program.
The support pac is buggy and does not work. The author of the support pac has been made aware of these shortcomings. Another reason not to use the support pac is that you need to pay extra support fees if you want help from PMR channels on a production problem. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

That's not true for Category 3 SupportPacs. I believe that's only actually true for Category 1 SupportPacs. but you would have had to pay money up front to GET Category 1 supportPacs.
And of course, both Cat2 and Cat4 supportPacs are not supported by the PMR Process at all. If you have in the past been able to pay money to get support done through a PMR, I'm stunned.
Likely you paid money to IBM Software Services for a support engagment, and didn't go through the PMR Process at all.
Otherwise, yes, if the maintainer of a Cat2 or Cat4 supportPac is unresponsive, then it's a reasonable idea not to use it in production. |

If you are using SyslogAppender, the messages would appear in Syslog. If you are using FileAppender, you have to figure out, based on your local log4j.properties file, where the log4j log is being written. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks
