I encountered a strange problem where the listener is not stable(run and stop unpredictable).
From the event viewer, it indicated that the listener port could be used by other application.
Any other way to find out which port is used by which application or manager.
Netstat does not show the detail.
Thank you. |

Have a look at www.sysinternals.com for the "TCPView" utility. It's freely downloadable and will show all the processes that are using TCP and UDP endpoints.
The screenshot shows it listing the process names/numbers for each "LISTENING" port.

Just noticed in the blurb on the page, the process name is only displayed when run on Windows XP.
This implies to me that you probably can't work this out on NT/2000. These guys at sysinternals know their stuff and if it could be done in NT/200 they would have done it. |

John,
This is a nice tool. Thanks for the pointer. Actually, it does show the process name even on W2K. Another nice feature is you can right click on a process and view the properties. This gives the startup command line parms. If you have multiple copies of runmqlsr active, e.g. multiple queue mangers this shows the association of port to queue manager.
