Hi,

I have a requirement where i have to retrieve data from Oracle v10 database and send out as an XML file. I have done this using a compute node and a simple select query. But my client wants to know the usage of Mapping node and wanted me to try the same scenario using Mapping node. I do understand that I can retrieve the data from database by adding the database table to my source panel in mapping node. I am using MBToolkit 7.0. When i look at the documentation for this, it says that i should create a database definition. I have followed the steps in the MB infocenter for this. Below are the values i gave in the database definition wizard

JDBC Driver : Oracle 10 - Oracle Thin Driver Default
SID : EIDDBDEV
Host : ussp-oradeid
port number : 1547
user name : ETG_STG
password :ETG_STG_dev
Connection URL : jdbc:oralce:thin:@ussp-oradeoid:1547:EIDDBDEV (automatically populated)

However, when i give all the information and click next, i get the following error

"The driver class was not found in the specified driver JAR/ZIP file. Please update the jar list in the driver information"

I have added the "classes12.zip", "runtime.zip" files in the classpath.

I have oracle client 10.2.1 installed on my machine where toolkit is running. Broker is running on a linux server.

Can someone please help me on resolving this error? Also, is there any other way to use the mapping node to retrieve data from the database and map to message set.

I have found what I was doing wrong. By default ojdbc14.jar file was in the jar list and i had to add the classes12.zip file to it. I couldnt understand and find where the jar list was in the beginning and so i posted this topic. Apparently there is a "triangular" symbol next to the JDBC driver property in the database definition wizard. When we click on it, it shows the list of jars. we can add/edit this list with new jar files. Once i added the correct(classes12.zip) file, i could create the database definition successfully.

Its a silly mistake on my part. but sometimes these things just take a lot of time to figure out for first timers. So, if anyone runs into a situation like this.... i hope this will help.
