Following the list of activities i performed to configure MQ at MSCS cluster.

1. Installed MQ 7.0.1 on both the server (primary and secondary).

2. output of dspmqver is identical on both.

3. run the command haregtyp /r on both and restarted both the servers.

4. Created a Queue manager on primary.

6. While putting Queue manger under MSCS Clustering when i choose Add a resource->More Resources->Add IBM MQSeries MSCS i get the error saying MQ mscs is not register to all nodes do you want to continue. i pressed yes.

7. Then i checked the properties of added resource and i found in the possible owners list server 2 is not visible.

8. At this time i thought it may be possible haregtyp /r command is not successful at server2 , but it ran successfully and server2 showing MQ resource also.

9. Now i tried to add server2 forcefully to the list of possible owners , during which i got another error saying unable to add node RTGS server2.

only issue is server2 is not getting listed in possible owners list if that happens our problem will be solved.

Happy New Year

Speak to your Windows Sys Admins and get them to sort out the Windows-level issue, i.e. ensure the hardware cluster is properly configured and working, then follow the Info Centre to set up a queue manager etc.

after so many tries finally i decided to configure multiinstance queue manager.
after configuring it , switch over is happening very fine, meance when i stop one of the queue manager on server1, server2 queue manager takes hold of it.
but if i shutdown the server1 , server2 queue manager did not start.
i followed the instruction given at the following link.
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv7/v7r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.mq.amqzag.doc/fa70159_.htm

also the verify the multiinstnce queue manger link, there is step to add queue manager as a remote queue manager using MQ explorer, i tried , but it took so much of time to connect and at the end it stops connecting.

what should i do.

Please help,

Chetan ,

I presume the servers are domain controllers?

Looks to me that you may be running into some additional challenges, like a firewall not allowing the connection.

Try telnet host mqmport from the box your MQ Explorer is running on. This will tell you if the TCP/IP communication layer is O.K.

Have fun
