Hi
We are just about to setup a production environment on Solaris using Oracle as the backend DB. Does anyone have any good reasons for or against using 5.3 with CSD 1 in this production environment. There seems to be mixed views so far in this forum.
Thanks
John

Is MQWF 3.3 on MQ 5.3 already officially supported by IBM? _________________ Best regards.

Yaakov:
I believe I saw something in the IBM newsgroup that indicated they had tested V332 with MQ 5.3.1. However, the same message indicated that V332 does not work with DB2 8.1. _________________ John McDonald

The same message also kind of indicated that MQ5.3 is not yet supported with WF332, but I am not sure. I was of the impression that it was not supported. Great if somebody could clarify.

John,

I would think MQ 5.3 works (on distributed platforms) but we currently have problems with DB2 V8...

I guess you are right... this is not exactly a ringing endorsement. _________________ John McDonald

I just found out that (from IBM) that we can use MQWF332 with MQ531 on windows2000. For AIX and Solaris it is not yet supported.

Hi
FYI - IBM have informed us as well that 332 with 5.3 is not supported, especially on Solaris. They reccommended 3.4 but we are putting 332 with 5.2.1 on our production system.

My reply may be surprising to all of u out there....
Part of the reply from IBM is as below:
Quote: |
a circumvention is to have MQ5.3 with CSD01 and MQWF V332 with SP3, and a
new db2swit file which is attached below. |
and we are on wf33240 and wmq5.3 csd1 and doing fine.. on AIX
regards
