Following from this, I now have a WMB 6.1.0.8 set up running. I may never be trusted near the installation again, but if they don't want me to apply maintenance they should make the Administrator password harder to guess....
Anyway, I've got event messages being emitted and feel the joy flow through me. One tiny point still remains:
Within the applicationData tab we have 2 simpleContent tabs; one is the message id, one is a business identity field from the body of the message. Both appear, both have the correct value for the message being sent through and it's all good. Except the name attribute is blank. It's not a problem at the moment as the dataType attribute enables us to tell them apart.
My question is what have I failed to set / tick / configure to make this name appear? I've review the InfoCenter and this useful document & am unable to spot the obvious mistake.
As before, trout & riducle appropriate to the stupidity of my blunder are invited.
Merry Christmas. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Have you enabled the new function in the fixpack with mqsichangebroker BROKER -f all ? Presumably you have or nothing would work. |

No, because v6.1.0.9 is not yet GA. I might be able to sneak 6.1.0.8 but individual fixes (especially for this) are not worth the hassle it'd cause.
I am reassured the problem is not that I've failed to configure something, but failed to find an APAR. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Actually event messages work fine (subject to this issue) on lower version. My previous thread was entirely down to the Toolkit throwing a hissy fit.
I simply decided that if I was going to use an "illegal" version of the Toolkit, I might as well use an "illegal" version of the runtime. It's not like I hadn't previously said we should upgrade. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
